Welcome to the Sagayama and Shimodaira Laboratory home page.
Our diverse research interests include pattern information processing, pattern recognition, machine learning algorithms, speech recognition/synthesis, spoken language processing, dialog understanding, amimated image generation, hand-written character recognition, visual information processing, music information processing, multimedial information processing, etc. Our goal is to process (recognize, understand, etc.) such pattern information in the human society as humans do and to provide a human ability of information processing to machines to enable them to communicate with humans in a human way. Virtual human is one of ultimate goals of our research.
